The Salvation Army NJ Division Hurricane Sandy Hunger Relief Drive

Hurricane Sandy is wreaking havoc here in NJ.  This record breaking storm and the damage its causing has created record setting need.  

Before this disaster, there were over one million people living in food insecure households in NJ.  Almost 50% of these emergency food clients report having to choose between paying for food and paying their rent, mortgage, utilities and medicine. The hurricane has just made their situation worse and put many more people in need. 

The Salvation Army is motivated by the love of God to help these people, especially at a time of emergency.  You can support any of the 26 food pantries and soup kitchens we operate throughout the state of NJ by purchasing food at this website that will be delivered directly to us for you.  

You can pick the location you want to help or support the general drive which will direct the food you purchase to where it is most needed.
